Pembridge Medieval Festival 25th/26th May 2024

Leominster Medieval Society is staging a Medieval Festival in Pembridge over the Late May Bank Holiday weekend. Drawing on Pembridge’s rich medieval heritage, the festival aims to show how people lived, played, and fought during the period 1200 to 1500. In a living history encampment visitors will see different skills, crafts, and activities. There will be demonstrations and displays, talks on arms and armour, the longbow and crossbow, and medieval gunnery. Medieval-style working horses will show how central the horse was to everyday medieval life.

There will also be medieval music and dance. In the afternoon there will be a small clash between rival Lords and some of their retainers set in the mid-15th century.  Villagers are encouraged to decorate their homes and gardens, pubs, hostelries, etc. to help create a medieval carnival atmosphere. Flags and bunting are most welcome.

The Pembridge Medieval Festival will be great fun for all the family and children are welcome to dress up. Dogs are also welcome but be aware that at certain times there will be sharp noises and medieval “hand-gonne” discharges.

The free event, centered on the Millennium Green, will open at 10 am and close at 5 pm on Saturday and 4.30 pm on Sunday.
