New Defibrillator!

Reading This Could Save a Life

Pembridge has a new defibrillator!

Where to find it?

It’s installed in the East Street car park. It’s mounted on the wall of the toilet block.

There is no longer a defibrillator at the Red Lion.

The old one donated some ten years ago has been sent away to be refurbished. When it is

ready it will be relocated outside the Parish Hall in Bearwood Lane.

What’s it for?

It can be used to restart someone’s heart after a suspected cardiac arrest ( heart attack).

When someone has a heart attack, obtaining treatment quickly is vital to their chances of

recovery.

Every second counts. So, make sure that everyone in your home and workplace knows where the nearest one can be found.

How to access it

Follow these steps:-

  • Dial 999 and speak to the emergency operator.

  • Give them the postcode where the defibrillator is located. It’s written on the front of it.

  • The emergency operator will give you a code.

  • Key the code into the keypad.

  • The cover will open and release the defibrillator.

  • Stay on the line with the 999 operator. They will tell you what to do.

    • What else should I do?

Tell all your family, friends, and neighbours where the new defibrillator is.

Next time you’re in East Street take a look at it.

Familiarising yourself with the location and simple to follow steps could make it

easier to use in an emergency.

How has it been acquired?

A generous private donation has made this possible. The defibrillator was donated in

memory of Nicola Gostelow, “ Nikki” whose heart was always in Pembridge.
