Music Makes Pembridge Go Round
Music Makes Pembridge Go Round
There was lots of singing in Pembridge over Christmas, the Carol Service at St Mary’s Church, a Sing along with the Ukulele Band in the New Inn, and Carol Singing around the village, despite a wet and blustery night.
If music is your thing, then there will be lots of opportunity to join in over the coming months, regardless of your previous experience in singing or playing an instrument- all are welcome. Why not give it a go – a great way to beat the winter blues and to make new friends.
Love to Sing Community Choir
Professional singer and choir mistress, Hayley Osborne, is launching a new community choir here in Pembridge.
Starting on Monday 15th January, the choir will meet in the school hall on Bearwood Lane each Monday in term time, from 7pm till 8.30pm. All are welcome regardless of previous experience. There will be a charge of £4 per session.
Hayley has achieved huge success with the children’s choir at Pembridge CE School. They sang in the Market Square during the lights switch on, and having previously appeared at Hereford Cathedral in a concert with G4.
Make A Noise
There’s a call to all musicians out there who may be interested in collaborating, either on projects, or music related events, in the Pembridge area. If you sing, play or are learning an instrument in any musical genre Phil (07507 235898) or Julian (07803 857047) would love to hear from you.
Pop Music Quiz
The recent pop music quiz at the Parish followed a similar format to the Hit List quiz held during the Jubilee celebrations. Over 11 teams took part, with only 6 points separating the top 3 teams after 8 rounds. These teams went into the tense buzzer round final. They included Never Going to Quiz You Up, last year’s champions The Bevans, and the winners The West Enders made up of residents of West Street. A great time was had by all and over £560 was raised to support the Parish Hall and Portrait of Pembridge.
